“Together with worldly education, you have to cultivate the human values and undertake spiritual discipline.”

 Sri Sathya Sai Baba

The Sai Ananda Early Education Centre (SAEEC) was established to provide underprivileged children with a chance to enhance themselves at a young age. These children require a proper platform to prepare physically, mentally, and emotionally, enabling them to excel when they later enroll in school. SAEEC is led by a highly qualified full-time principal and experienced staff teachers in early childhood education. The centre adopts the Malaysian pre-school syllabus, infusing it with human values and life skills. Currently serving 30 Malaysian children aged 5 to 6 years old, SAEEC offers sessions from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm, providing ample study and playtime. Throughout the week, children receive nutritional breakfast, snacks, and lunch. These underprivileged children, some with hidden great potential, get an opportunity to explore language, arts and craft, science, mathematics, self-care, and human values in a classroom and outdoor environment, which they might not have experienced otherwise due to their status and living conditions.

The Sai Ananda Tutorial Centre provides a nurturing environment for school-going children from the underprivileged community to complete their homework, engage in revision, and participate in various extracurricular activities like music, arts, and literature under the guidance of qualified teachers. Currently, the tutorial centre houses 50 children.

Level 1

Students in Level 1 are aged from 7-9 years old (in standard 1 to standard 3) in school. Since their school sessions are in the afternoon, they are picked up from their homes and arrive in Sai Ananda’s premises by 8.00am. After being guided with their homework, these children get to attend human values lessons and are groomed properly before attending school, improving their self-esteem amongst their peers.

Level 2

Students in Level 2 are aged from 10-12 years old (in standard 4 to standard 6). After their morning session in school, they are brought to Sai Ananda, where they are provided lunch

and tea, and are given space to rest after attending school. They also do their homework before leaving the center at 4.30pm.

These children’s parents work full-time to support their families, leaving them with little conducive learning environment at home. The Sai Ananda Tutorial Centre offers them an opportunity to excel academically and in other fields, at par with their peers, while instilling human values and promoting healthy habits and practices including mindfulness.

The Sai Ananda Refugee Education Centre is a beacon of hope and opportunity, catering to displaced children in search of a brighter future. Located in the heart of Kampung Laksamana, this center serves as a safe haven, providing refugee children, aged between 5 to 12 years old and holding UNHCR status, with the gift of education and a chance to overcome their past hardships.

Led by a highly qualified principal and supported by dedicated staff, the refugee education centre follows the Malaysian pre-school curriculum while also offering exposure to arts, music, life skills, and various fields of education. This holistic approach ensures that these children receive a well-rounded education, despite the lack of means and opportunities to attend daily school like their local peers.

Operating from 8.00 am to 12.30 pm, the center accommodates 50 children, nurturing their minds and spirits as they embark on a transformative educational journey. Here at the Sai Ananda Refugee Education Centre, we believe that education knows no boundaries and that every child deserves a chance to shape their own destiny and create a better tomorrow.

Saturday mornings come alive at Sai Ananda as children from the Early Education Centre, Tutorial Centre, and Refugee Education Centre gather for their vibrant co-curricular activities. These engaging sessions encompass yoga, aerobics, music, computer classes, dance, and various physical and play activities. Additionally, teenagers participate in a values education class, cultivating virtues such as honesty, kindness, compassion, and right conduct. With dedicated teachers and volunteers overseeing the activities, a strong student-teacher bond is fostered, allowing children to learn and grow while being themselves. The day culminates in a delightful, sumptuous lunch, enriching their minds, bodies, and spirits.

Sai Ananda goes the extra mile by offering free school transport to all underprivileged children who join our center. Students attending the tutorial, early education, and refugee education centers receive transportation to and from school, ensuring they never miss out on valuable education. With two dedicated drivers and in-house vans, our service operates from Mondays to Saturdays, providing a safe and reliable journey for these young learners.
