Our Origin Story

We are a non-profit charity foundation that carries out all activities on a voluntary basis as selfless service to the poor & needy. In the year 1992, at a slum settlement area known as Kampung Laksamana a few kilometres away from the famous Batu Caves, a small group of children gathered every Sunday morning to attend an Education in Human Values (EHV) class.

There were no premises, nor shelter from the sun or rain. The classes were held in an open area where the children who attended were moulded into dynamic, value-orientated youths. The classes and the love showered on them were a welcome respite from the cold, harsh realities of the lives many of these children led. Slowly, from a
handful of children at first, the group blossomed into a much larger group of children.

To accommodate the growing number of activities and beneficiaries, the Sai Ananda building was continuously expanded. Over the years, Sai Ananda has blossomed into a vibrant non- profit, social service centre that provides aid in various forms to the poor & needy.

Our Values

EMPATHY
We deeply understand that every individual, including the underprivileged, is an integral part of the larger family of humanity. Therefore, it is our duty to extend a helping hand whenever our family is in need or facing hardships.

COMPASSION
Our beneficiaries are not just recipients of our support; they become cherished members of our extended family and their well-being becomes our collective responsibility. Our services go beyond mere assistance; we strive to empower them to lead dignified lives and stand on their own feet.

From the early days of Sai Ananda to the present, these guiding principles have remained at the heart of all our endeavors. As we continue to evolve and adapt to the changing circumstances, we uphold the value of compassion and empathy, ensuring that no one is left behind in their journey towards a better life.
